October 12th - Wine-making and Lamb Roast

PLEASE NOTE: This event has moved from October 5th to October 12th.

Peter Beardsley *71 will once again open his home in Old Lyme to us for a lamb roast event...it is not to be missed! We'll also start this year's (his 29th) wine making (crushing the grapes), and will help bottle last year's. Great fun, but wear suitable clothes because there are often a few splashes! We'll kick things off at 2pm at Peter's home (288 Mile Creek Road, Old Lyme, CT; map). Rain date will be the next day. There is no charge for this event, but appetizers and desserts are welcome contributions!

Peter may be contacted the day-of at 203-314-1505, but be sure to RSVP to Barry Nann  '57 (barrynann@comcast.net), so we can get a headcount!

Pictures (such as the one above) from the first of such events (two years ago) can be found in the "Photos" tab of this blog.

UPDATE: We had a fun event! Photos can be found on PAAFC's Facebook page!

Pressing the grapes!

October 9th - Fall Garden Party

Join us Wednesday the 9th, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in welcoming new Tigers at our Fall Party! The Carters will graciously be opening up their home for the event (100 Edgehill Road, New Haven; map here; look for the orange balloons), and offering wine, beer, and heavy appetizers. There is no cost for this event, though dues are always appreciated. Finally, PLEASE REPLY Gilles Carter (gillescarter@yahoo.com or 917-612-4334).

Graduate Students: 100 Edgehill Road is at the intersection of Edgehill and Ogden Street, about a 20-minute walk from campus. The Yale Shuttle picks up/drops off at East Rock Rd. and Edgehill only a block away.

September 16th - Young Alumni Happy Hour

Come meet up with other young (or, at least, young-at-heart) tigers in the region for a drink! We'll convene at 7:30pm at Geronimo Tequila Bar (map) on Monday the 16th. The PAAEC will provide appetizers and a private space for us, so just wear some orange and bring some cash for drinks! See you then!

PS: Though the event is free, we will be collecting optional dues on behalf of the PAAEC of $10, which  help support various club-sponsored events throughout the year. Checks can be made out to PAAEC or donation may be made through Paypal (here). Please consider contributing!
