The Princeton men's hockey team is coming to New Haven to play the defending 2013 National Champion Yale team on Saturday, February 15 at 7:00pm. This year, the Princeton Alumni Association of Eastern CT will be hosting a pre-game dinner/party at the home of Gilles Carter '80. Details for these two exciting events below!
About the Team
The Princeton Tigers have relied upon an exciting group of freshman this year, lead, by Colten Phinney, their goaltender, while three of Princeton's top offensive players, including Andrew Calof, recover from injuries. In this year, as we approach the 100th anniversary of Hobey Baker's graduation from Princeton, Andrew is on a short list of candidates for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the top college hockey player in the country. The team is slowly coming together, as evidenced by their recent 4 to 3 upset win over Quinnipiac, the 4th ranked team in the country.
There is no cost for this event, although dues are always appreciated and you must RSVP Gilles Carter '80 (firstname.lastname@example.org or 917-612-4334) to participate. First come, first served. Seating is limited. The event will begin at 4:00pm at Gilles home at 100 Edgehill Road, New Haven (map; Tigers now in graduate school should note that the blue line Yale shuttle drops off only a block away). We will be joined by parents and families of the Princeton players and, at around 5:00pm by the outstanding coach of the Princeton team, Bob Prier. Bob will talk to us about his team and its prospects of soundly beating Yale. A great time is guaranteed. Don't be shy about wearing any and all orange you own. Come and cheer on the Tigers!
Hockey vs Yale
The game will start at 7:00pm and will be held at Ingalls Rink (73 Sachem Street, New Haven; map). To reserve tickets to the game, contact Alan Rosner '76 (203-809-0224 or email@example.com). We were only able to purchase a block of 100 tickets and always have many more requests than we can accommodate, so act soon! Tickets are $15 each (with full scholarships for alumni accumulating debt at local graduate schools courtesy of the PAAEC). If you provide an address, your tickets will be mailed to you. You can also pay at the game. Tickets not delivered by mail will be distributed at the pre-game dinner/party or outside the ticket office at the Yale arena at 6:55 p.m.
See you Chez Gilles at 100 Edgehill, New Haven and/or at Ingalls Rink. Go Tigers!!!
PS: We will also be hosting a similar event on the evening of March 21st for men's lacrosse vs Yale. Keep an eye out for details!
